SOFIA

Just to remind us once again what Bace Adventures is all about – we know that Nigerians travel a lot. We are also aware that summer is looming near and that plans to travel are taking gear. Even with the recession we know that Nigerians will still travel for summer.

I love adventures. I love things outside the norm. I also love travel and love to experience different cultures of different countries so am bringing to you the different countries you could visit for summer.

WHY NOT Leave out UK, USA, SA, DUBAI AND PARIS from this year’s List and visit some other places as listed in this blog.

Bace Adventures just draws your attention to other places and countries where you CAN have fun and not just the REGULARS… be it in Europe, Africa, North/South America or even Asia.

Do you know that Bulgaria is one of the cheapest countries to visit in the Europe!

I can hear someone saying BULGARIA! Sounds really odd, isn’t it?. Keep reading and you will see it’s not drably as thought!

SOFIA IS THE CAPITAL CITY OF BULGARIA!

Kind of love the name of all these cities!!! One of my daughters is SOFIA!

Sofia, Bulgaria is the largest city in Bulgaria! It is a modern youthful city with a lot of churches and mosques too. It has different kinds of museums. The archaeological museum, Sofia history museum, National museum of history and Museum of social art.

Sofia has very beautiful hotels with very unique decors which are comfy and affordable for your stay. Its hotels though classy are very cheap and one of the cheapest in Europe! Cab fares can go as less as $1 a mile. Living expenses for tourists’ are actually very low compared to other popular cities in the Europe.

Places you could visit include:

St. Aleksander Nevsky Cathedral
This church is the symbol of the city! It is a massive cake-like sculptured building with layers of domes and ornament. It is such a stunning place to visit.

Vitosha Blvd
This is a pedestrian street with elaborate shops and upmarkets. It is a place to do your various shopping and also interact with people. It is the main commercial street in Sofia and also the most expensive street in Sofia. It has great cafes with wonderful terraces and good restaurants.

Central Sofia Market Hall
This Mall has many stalls selling all kinds of food, drink and cosmetics. It also has various fast-food cafés.

Amphitheatre of Serdica
This is a historical place which tells the history of Bulgaria. It is an amazing place to visit.

Prince Alexander of Battenberg Square
This is the largest square in Sofia. It also has the National Art Gallery

National Palace of Culture
It is the biggest congress center in the Balkans (a massive monolithic communist-style building).

It also has parks and gardens such as:

Borisova Gradina (Boris Garden)
The best and oldest Park in the city.

Yuzhen Park (South Park)
This is one beautiful park for kids. It has cafes and entertainment for both kids and adullts. It also has a few ponds with ducks.

Bulgaria Soups and cuisine are a unique treat you shouldn’t miss while vacationing in Bulgaria. They have different soups in their cafes that you should try.

You could also visit the beach or go “Swimming and Spa” as it is hot during summers and Sofia has outdoor swimming pools where you can “Chilax”

It is a very QUIRKY place! If you really love things OUT OF THE NORM – then you will like it here in SOFIA – BULGARIA!
